April 04, 2019 through April 28, 2019
April presents a rich collection of paintings from Los Altos artist, Annie Knapp Fitz, 1912-1995. Nine-year old Annie came to Los Altos, married, raised three boys and remained on her family property her whole life. Self taught and almost 60, she began painting and sculpting clay portraits to illustrate what the town was like in its early years.
Annie’s legacy endures through the 215+ paintings and fifteen sculptures now owned by the museum, but also through her deep interest in helping future children appreciate the heritage of the Los Altos area. Every April, local area third graders come learn about the history of their town through her artwork.
