Join us for She Sang Me A Good Luck Song’s opening night! Charlene Nijmeh, Chairwoman of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe, will speak about the Trail of Truth and the tribe’s ongoing fight for federal recognition.
About the Program
From August to October 2024, members of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe journeyed on horseback from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. to raise awareness about the tribe’s fight for federal recognition and to protest injustices faced by all unrecognized tribes.
About the Presenter
Charlene Nijmeh is a business owner and environmentalist, and has served as Chairwoman of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe since 2018. She led the Trail of Truth protest and is a passionate advocate for the Muwekma Ohlone and other unrecognized tribes.
