Author Robin Chapman will interview historian Mary Jo Ignoffo on her research into Sarah Winchester, Isabel Merriman, and California at the turn of the century.
About the Speakers
Mary Jo Ignoffo is a historian whose work includes books, articles, museum exhibits, and appearances in documentary films and podcasts broadcast in the U.S., Europe, and Japan. Her definitive biography, Captive of the Labyrinth: Sarah L. Winchester, Heiress to the Rifle Fortune, was released as an audiobook by Penguin Random House in 2017 and reissued in 2022 with 27 additional images.
Robin Chapman, a journalist, historian, and Los Altos native, earned her Master’s in Journalism from UCLA and worked in broadcast news at KRON-TV and ABC-7 in Washington, D.C. She has authored a trilogy on California history: California Apricots: the Lost Orchards of Silicon Valley, Historic Bay Area Visionaries, and The Valley of Heart’s Delight: True Tales from Around the Bay—all from The History Press. Robin also writes a regular column for the Los Altos Town Crier.
