"Slow Food" Cooking Class: Braising

“Slow Food” Inspired Cooking Class with Joni Sare.

Attendees will be brought back to the basics with this early peasant cooking method: braising. A pot with lid, chicken/tofu, and herbs and veggies are all we need. The class will consist of three teams making three different braised dishes: Coq au Vin (French), Butter Chicken (Indian), and Black Pepper Tofu (Yotam Ottolenghi). At the end of the class we’ll share a meal, tasting what each team created.

Joni Sare is a personal trainer for your kitchen. Her forte is to spark passion for cooking, as well as help people become organized and competent in the kitchen. Slow Food South Bay is a twenty-year-old chapter of Slow Food, an international food and agriculture nonprofit supporting Good Clean Fair food for the planet. Worldwide, there are over 100,000 members representing over 120 countries.

Registration required in advance. Fee: $75/class. Space is limited.

This program is in support of the exhibition “Silicon Valley Eats: A Taste for Innovation” appearing in the Museum’s Main Gallery, noon-4pm, Thursdays-Sundays, May 2 – September 8, 2019.
