1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Join us by Zoom as we kickoff the season with a discussion with local author David Mariani, followed by holiday caroling with community chorus Schola Cantorum Silicon Valley, teamed with performers from Lyric Theatre.
David Mariani will speak on his new book, Poverty of Affluence, where he provides a history of Santa Clara Valley from the viewpoint of some of the early ranchers and land owners. The Marianis have been one of the seminal families in this Valley for five generations. His book takes us on a journey from the beginnings of Santa Clara Valley as the fruit basket of the world; the real estate boom of the 60’s and 70’s and right thru to the computer age and the birth of Silicon Valley. The author weaves an entertaining, provocative and compelling story line based on his personal experiences.
Mr. Mariani will be on hand to sign copies of his book at the Museum, Saturday, Nov 21 from 1 – 2 pm. His books are available for sale in the Museum Store, as well as its online store.
All event registrants will receive a “goodie bag” filled with small gifts from the Museum Store, AND a Discount Coupon. Goodie bag must be picked up in the Museum Store during store hours (Thursdays – Sundays, 1 -3-pm), and will be available for pickup through November 29.
