New Board Members

Gerri Acers

Gerri AcersGerri Acers has lived in Los Altos for 43 years and was a former teacher and school administrator in San Mateo/Foster City School District for 28 years. Her career also included 15 years with the New Teacher Center, a national education nonprofit mentoring teachers. Gerri is a member of the Foothill College Commission, Mountain View/Los Altos Scholars, Los Altos Rotary and the Museum’s Education Committee. She holds a masters degree in Public Administration from Santa Clara University.

Kelly Davis

Kelly DavisKelly Davis is a Client Development Officer for Boston Private, based in Los Altos. Earlier, she spent 15 years as Regional Manager at Heritage Bank of Commerce. She is on the Board of the Foothill-DeAnza Foundation and has served on the Boards of the Los Altos Village Association, the Endowment Fund of the Junior League Palo Alto-MidPeninsula, the Palo Alto Red Cross and is a member of the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce. She is an equestrian and enjoys riding and competing.

Alex Wang

Alex WangAlex Wang has been a realtor in Silicon Valley since 1999 and recently re-established his own brokerage, Rainmaker Real Estate. He is a UC Berkeley alum and a graduate of the Influence and Negotiation Strategies Program at Stanford University. Alex resides in Los Altos with his wife and three children. Fluent in English and Mandarin, Alex has a passion for working across cultures and enjoys giving back through non-profit community charity work. Alex enjoys tennis, rock climbing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Retiring Board Members

The Museum bids a fond farewell to the following Directors who have served the Museum for two full terms and whose presence on the Board will be greatly missed:

Marcia Adams – a retired attorney, Marcia turned her talents to the Oral History Program, interviewing most of the City’s past mayors as well as other subjects. She served as Board Liaison to this important committee for the last six years, as well as assisting with the development of the strategic plan and other ad-hoc Board committees. She plans to continue volunteering to conduct oral histories.

Carole Flores – a retired school teacher, Carole has served on the Museum’s Education Committee for many years. During her service on the Board, she took on the additional task of Chairing the Membership Committee, and also served as Board Secretary and as Board Representative on the 2019 Nominating Committee. She plans to continue her volunteer work with the Education and Membership committees.

Julia Lovin – currently working for Wells Fargo’s online division, Julia has served the Museum as Board President, Past President, on several adhoc committees, and will remain on the Finance Committee. Julia spearheaded many improvements to the Museum’s daily processes including payroll and bookkeeping. She has been nominated to serve on the 2022 Nominating Committee.
