The Los Altos History Museum planted a new Manzanita shru last week after it was donated by the Los altos Daughter of the American Revolution. The Plant, native to California, was planted in the history museum garden. Glossy green leaves line the branches, which have a reddish brown bark. Though it currently has no flowers, from February to April it blooms white, vase-shaped flowers, providing nectar to local bees and other pollinators. It will also provide berries to birds in the autumn months. View here.
