Couple reflects as they depart Los Altos home of 52 years

Jane Reed may strike some as a fairly soft-spoken personality. But her actions as a Los Altos community volunteer over the past 50 years have spoken volumes.

From serving two terms as mayor to volunteering at the Los Altos History Museum. Jane has left her mark on countless community-building efforts. She co-founded the annual Los Altos-Los Altos Hills Joint Community Volunteer Service Awards luncheon, an event that continues into its 37th year. She played a major role in the growth of the History Museum, from its History House beginnings in the 1970s to the state-of-the-art institution it is today. And as an executive director with the Los Altos Village Association, she turned the annual Arts & Wine Festival into the city’s most popular event.
