Chef Chu Hosting 50th Anniversary Banquet – and Museum will benefit

Iconic restaurant will celebrate its historic role in Los Altos

Chef Chu’s, the iconic Peninsula restaurant that began in 1970 as a takeout eatery in a converted laundromat, will celebrate its golden anniversary in 2020.

To mark the occasion, chef Lawrence C.C. Chu will host a fundraising banquet, “Chef Chu’s, Serving History: Celebrating 50 Years,” on Feb. 9 — with all proceeds benefiting the Los Altos History Museum.

“This special evening is about celebrating history, being part of the Los Altos story, and giving back to the community,” Chu said in a statement. “The museum is a gathering spot for generations to learn about those who’ve built, and contributed to, the area…cont.
