2012 Hawaiian Lu'au
With plenty of Hawaiian shirts, 150 museum members and guests enjoyed a beautiful night on the island of Los Altos. The menu included a 79 pound whole pig and lots of homemade desserts and mai tai's. A special treat was a performance by Na Mamo No'eau that included traditional hula and polynesian dancing. Photos courtesy of Diane Claypool.
2011 Volunteer Recognition Party and Meeting of the Members
With no rain and plenty of food, June 2 saw a wonderful party on the museum patio. The evening began with the election of officers and new directors to the board and concluded with a festive celebration of our outstanding volunteers. We also commemorated ten years of the “new” museum, with a special award from State Senator Joe Simitian, and all the volunteers who made it possible. 2011 Fashion Show is Unforgettable!
Ladies enjoyed a tasteful luncheon at the University Club, followed by a variety of fashions from local retailers. Many of our very own History Museum volunteers enjoyed the spotlight as lovely models during the show. Here are some images from the event, courtesy of Ed Taft.
Shoup Centennial Celebration:
At the Shoup Centennial Celebration, a "once in a century celebration," guests enjoyed an evening of history and fun. Proceeds from the Shoup Centennial will benefit our original changing exhibits and our popular 3rd & 4th grade education programs for all Los Altos schools (public & private), and the historical essay contest for 3rd-6th graders.
