Current Exhibit: Lucile and David Packard: Valued Partners
Now through June 22, 2008
Their personal and business lives were intertwined and guided by their strong values. Though widely known for building a corporate giant guided by principles, Lu and Dave didn't stop there. Their broader sense of responsibility will be presented through stories of public service, family endeavors and philanthropy. Artifacts, interviews and personal photographs some never displayed publicly, will show how the Packards had a positive impact on our community, our nation and the world.

June 26 – October 12, 2008: Annie Knapp Fitz: Portrait of an Artist.
Annie Knapp’s family moved to Los Altos when she was eight. Living in a home made from a tank house, she studied music, taught herself to paint and sculpt, and recorded scenes old and new with refreshing vitality and candor. This retrospective and biographical exhibit will feature recently-donated drawings, portrait busts and paintings never before publicly displayed, with scenes from Palo Alto, Mountain View and other communities, in addition to classic Los Altos memories.

October 23, 2008 – March 30, 2009: Trains Mean Business: Los Altos Business Districts, 1908-1950.
The Southern Pacific Railroad put Los Altos on the map in 1908. Being able to move people and products faster and cheaper saw the rise of business and population in this previously remote area. Generously underwritten by the Union Pacific Foundation. |
